Heart-centered therapy for individuals, couples, and families

Conscious Living Counseling offers appointments Mondays through Saturdays at the Torrance location. We offer both day and evening appointments. In home visits are scheduled at the convenience of the client and therapist.

Our cash rates for services vary between $100 and $180 for a 50 minute session depending on the service provider.

We accept insurance, cash, and credit payments for services.

Most clients come to weekly sessions. Weekly sessions help maintain continuity in our work together and there is more likely to be progress in treatment. The schedule of sessions will depend on a client’s special and unique circumstances and needs. The session frequency often diminishes as the client nears the end of treatment.

The length of treatment depends on each client. Factors that need to be considered when looking at length of treatment include the needs of the client, consistency of treatment, desired outcome, and commitment to the process.

The end of treatment is different for everyone. It is a somewhat organic process that the therapist guides each person through. Generally speaking, each person formulates goals of treatment with the therapist. Achieving these goals becomes the benchmark of progress and signals when therapy can be concluded.

The Torrance office is located at 22750 Hawthorne Boulevard, Suite 201, Torrance, 90505.

The first meeting is a time to get acclimated to the office surroundings, our agency services, and for the CLCC staff to provide to you any information that might be helpful to working together. It is also an opportunity to ask any questions not brought up before the appointment, although questions are welcome at any time throughout treatment. In addition, we will review the results of the pre-appointment questionnaire, assess and address any risk factors, and discuss what you would like to get out of our therapeutic time spent together.

It is easy to schedule an appointment. This can be done in two ways. First, you can call CLCC at 310-302-7006. If your call is missed it will be returned within 28 hours. Second, appointments are accepted by email. Please use the email link on the website or directly at consciouslivingcounselingla@gmail.com. CLCC will respond to all emails in less than 28 hours.

Yes. The law protects the confidentiality of all communication between a client and a psychotherapist (LCSW). Information is not disclosed to anyone without permission of the client. However, there are a few exceptions to this rule and they all have to do with safety. The exceptions are as follows:

  • Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse.
  • If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person, the therapist must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
  • If the client is a danger to him/herself.
  • Improved communication and interpersonal skills
  • Insight into the motivations for some of your behaviors. This insight will allow you to choose which behaviors you would like to continue and which are no longer serving you.
  • Uncovering solutions to problems you are experiencing.
  • Finding resolution to the problem that caused you to initially seek counseling.
  • Learning new ways to manage anger, depression, and other overwhelming emotions.
  • Improved self-esteem.
  • Clarification of goals.
  • When applicable, increased parenting skills

You are the only one that can determine the answer to that question because it takes commitment on your part for the therapy process to work. Please know that there is nothing wrong with seeking support when you need it. By reaching out you are demonstrating that you possess the courage to address problems in your life when they arise. By reaching out you are asserting that you deserve a life that includes more happiness and less strife. By reaching out you are saying that you dare to dream of an existence where things can be different. We can assist you in shaping these visions and making them a reality. Together we can move you from a life that is happening “to you” into one in which you are in the driver’s seat and your actions are intentional toward positive outcomes for you and those around you.

Definitely. Speaking before an appointment will give you the opportunity to see how you feel about working together and give us a chance to determine if our services will fit your needs.

An LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. An LCSW holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and a professional license in Social Work. An Associate is someone who possesses a Master’s degree in a mental health field and is working on his/her hours towards their license. Associates are required to work directly under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional and they receive weekly supervision for all of their cases. Associates have a “waivered license” and their registration can also be found on the Board of Behavioral Health’s website.
