How exciting! My extensive training and life experience has provided me with many tools and strategies that I am eager to share with you on your path to joy. Of course, working together in an area as sensitive and important as your emotional well-being requires a sense of safety, so that is my top priority. And before you can trust me to guide your journey, you ought to know a little about mine.

I didn’t choose to be a therapist—therapy picked me! I have always known it was my life’s purpose to help people live more consciously and thrive. My journey began with the pursuit of higher education to give me the foundation I needed to serve my calling. First, I earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology, then a master’s in social work, followed by professional licensure. As of 2018 I also now hold a PhD in Human Services and Clinical Social Work.

At the beginning of my career, when I worked at an inpatient psychiatric hospital, I quickly learned that individuals suffering with mental illness need a kind and loving person to support them, because there is nothing scarier than feeling that you are losing control and no one understands. It became my personal mission to provide that understanding. Eventually, I transitioned into a community mental health position, accessing resources and providing linkage services to clients recently discharged from the hospital.

In April 2000, I decided to pursue my dream to move to California from New Jersey. The reason behind my longing remains a mystery. Someday, I hope to realize why I needed to come here, but for now, I’m just enjoying it. At first, I knew very few people here and felt very alone—it turns out that connecting with others as an adult is not so easy!

Soon, I joined a mental health agency that provided me with the opportunity to counsel clients and families in their homes, an honor not to be taken lightly. Through this experience, I developed skills to engage clients from different backgrounds relating to various and difficult treatment issues. Over the next 16 years, I worked my way up from a community mental health clinician to Clinical Supervisor to Junior Executive in their corporate office. My final role was Corporate Training Manager, which required me to stay current in the latest mental health research and disseminate it throughout the company, and I became certified as an ATD “Master Trainer” in curriculum development and public speaking.

When my promotions kept me away from the direct interaction that I loved with clients, I started a part-time private practice in 2009. As the years passed, I continually had a nagging feeling that it was time to go “all in.” Eventually, I heeded that feeling and took a huge leap, leaving the security of employment to open my full-time private practice in August 2015. I have never been happier! The practice continues to grow, with staff members joining our team and new groups forming regularly.

My guiding philosophy is that life provides choices and we can decide what choices suit us best. Sometimes we may not know until we discuss it with others, but the best choice will always reveal itself over time—and it may not be what we “want” so much as what we “need.” When this happens, it is valuable to have someone to assist with the growth process. I am happy to be that person for you.

“February 2022 update: After 22 years in CA, I have returned to NJ to spend some quality time with friends and family. I have transitioned my personal clients to 100% telehealth and all new CA clients will be telehealth moving forward.. When COVID first happened and we moved to telehealth, I did so kicking and screaming as I immensely enjoy being in the room with my clients. However, after 2 years of telehealth I learned how to make up for not being in the same room and have discovered that sometimes telehealth is even better than in-person. If you are unsure about telehealth I get that. I was too! However, if you decide to give it a try I think you will be surprised how easy and comfortable it can be.”
Christine[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_column_text]

Ren

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][vc_column_text]Hi. By listening, supporting, and helping others feel seen during vulnerable moments, I built strong, trusting relationships. That experience shaped how I now work with clients in therapy: with presence and empathy.

I know firsthand what it feels like to start over, and I hold a special place in my work for those in transitional periods or identity shifts. For the past year, I’ve worked in community mental health, supporting survivors of domestic abuse and intergenerational trauma as they begin to feel safe in their bodies and in the world again. Other areas of focus include life transitions such as postpartum and perimenopausal periods, anxiety, depression, and self-esteem. You don’t have to go through this alone. Let’s work together to help you embrace positive change.

My approach is client-centered and collaborative, rooted in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. I draw from attachment theory to explore how early relationships shape us, and use cognitive behavioral tools to shift patterns that no longer serve you, build emotional resilience, and develop new ways of relating to yourself and others. At the heart of my work is a deep respect for your story and the belief that growth is possible at any stage of life.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy QT with my family and French Bulldog, Tina Fey. Together, we can better understand what has shaped you and identify steps toward a life that feels more aligned with who you want to be.

My approach is eclectic, creative, and tailored to each client’s needs. I draw from attachment and psychodynamic theories to explore how early relationships and experiences may shape the present, while incorporating solution-focused therapy to build realistic goals, foster agency, and move toward your preferred future. I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and completed my clinical training working primarily with survivors of domestic violence, including individuals, families, and children. This experience deepened my appreciation for resilience, the impact of generational trauma, and the importance of early intervention.

I am especially interested in working with individuals navigating life transitions, including adolescents facing changes in relationships, family dynamics, identity, school, and social pressures. Sometimes anxiety is not simply anxiety. It can develop after years of anticipating conflict, fearing rejection, trying to earn love, or remaining in control to avoid feeling powerless. The strategies that once helped you survive may now be keeping you from feeling safe, connected, and fully present. I work with adults, adolescents, and couples experiencing trauma, emotional wounds, anxiety, chronic stress, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions. My approach is integrative, holistic, and trauma-informed. Together, we will look beyond the symptoms to understand the experiences, beliefs, and protective patterns underneath them. Therapy with me is warm, collaborative, and honest. I will meet you with compassion while also helping you recognize the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. For couples, I help uncover the pain beneath recurring arguments, emotional distance, and unmet needs so that both partners can develop healthier communication and greater emotional safety.

I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, and I am registered in California as both an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor under the supervision of Dr. Christine Cearfoss, LCSW. I am a registered associate professional clinical counselor in the state of California and am very passionate about helping others in all facets of life. I have a background working with a variety of different populations and want to make sure you feel respected and demonstrate growth as we go on this therapeutic journey together. I began providing therapy in 2020, and I have fallen in love with helping others. My professional experiences not only solidified my love to aid others, but to help guide individuals through any situation, regardless of what stage of processing they are in.

I utilize evidence-based approaches, and also combine psychodynamic techniques with accountability worksheets and coaching around daily tasks. These interventions can make a drastic difference in one’s mental state and functionality. As someone who is trained in eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and who has seen the positive effect it can have on my clients firsthand, this technique can be used as an alternative to the traditional therapeutic approach of “talk” therapy, providing another facet of growth and healing.

I am also a proud member of the LGBTQ community.

Let us go on this journey together!
Brody[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_column_text css=””]

Liz Bojorquez
Associate Marriage and Family Therapist
143141

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][vc_column_text css=””]Life is full of transitions and when the feelings of anxiety, depression, stress, or negative thoughts surface, it can feel overwhelming. The good thing about this is that you don’t have to navigate through life alone. I’d like to be that connection for you on your path. My name is Lizette and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I am happily married to my husband of 27 years, and the mother of 4 amazing daughters (3 adult age, 1 teenager). I am the eldest of three children and the only daughter to divorced parents. As I see my own nuclear family transition out of their youth years, I also am experiencing life with aging parents and navigating through my own growth. I have worked in the administrative side of healthcare for the past 27 years and during COVID-19, I witnessed fear in the public and among healthcare workers for the first time in my life. It motivated me to pursue helping others in a different capacity.

As a registered marriage and family therapist, I enjoy working with individuals who are open-minded and ready to explore chances for wellness. My main therapeutic approaches include narrative therapy and mindfulness practice. Narrative therapy gives me insight into your life story; who you were, who you are now and who you desire to be. Mindfulness practices allow you to connect within. It can help you gain new insights into yourself you may not have discovered yet. Together we can recreate your story. I wish to instill hope and inspiration in my clients. I do this by helping my clients set intentions to expand self-awareness, to explore and tap into their inner guidance for growth, and increase self-love. Thank you for helping me to regain my family.”
-M.O. 16 y.o.

“I saw Christine for the past 9 months now and I can truly say She has helped motivate me to make a Change in myself and in my life in many ways. She never made me feel pressured to change it was just her way of interaction that made me want to do better. Her way of talking gives you a different perspective and helps to open your mind look at a situation from every aspect. It’s truly inspiring. If you’re in need of a counselor and are unsure Christine is definitely worth it. She’ll make you feel very comfortable and is very professional.”
-S.W.

“Christine is a thoughtful & fabulous therapist who gave me tremendous insight into many facets of my life. This allowed me to re-shape the way I was thinking and gain a different perspective. She provided me with some remarkable tools that helped me to heal from years of scars left behind after dealing with a series of traumatic events. Each time I visited with Christine I felt re-charged and gained a sharper focus on what I needed to do to heal. It was like a light switch was turned on each visit and I could see a much clearer picture. The greatest gift she gave me was the ability to listen and hear my story, without judgment. And for this, I am grateful.”
-M.N.

“Visiting Christine is always a pleasure. From day one I have felt comfortable talking with her. She makes each and every time a relaxing time and takes it at the speed that you want to. She does not impose her thoughts but lets you come to realizations of your own. I can see the authenticity of her desire to be invested in her clients rather then treat this just as a job. Overall she is great to work with and I recommend her to any one. I can’t thank her enough for the help that she has given me.”
-J.R.

“In addition to providing us with tools that helped improve our communication with one another; our sessions with Christine helped us feel more comfortable and confident when interacting with others. She’s a great listener who provided a relaxing atmosphere that made it possible to focus on what is important and what is not. She offered practical ideas for things we could work on between sessions. We feel very fortunate to have worked with Christine, and we would recommend her to anyone!”
-C and J[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1580824783682{margin-top: 35px !important;}”][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_single_image image=”6143″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][vc_column_text] About Us The mission of Conscious Living Counseling Center (CLCC) is helping people gain a better understanding of “self” so they can create their best possible lives.
