Why Do I Have Panic Attacks?

Although the exact causes of panic attacks are unknown there are some general beliefs about their origin. Panic attacks are normally the result of stress, either known or unconscious. Panic attacks may also be the result of drug use or the result of abuse of caffeinated narcotics or beverages. They are your body’s way of saying something is wrong. Unfortunately, once a panic attack has occurred related to a particular event, and the particular event is resolved, the attacks may continue. For example, if you had a panic attack while driving across a bridge then you may experience recurring attacks or anxiety symptoms moving forward whenever driving over bridges. This does not have to be the case, however.
First, if suffering from panic attacks you want to seek medical advice to rule out any medical conditions such as hyperthyroidism or hypoglycemia. If it is determined that there is no medical cause for your panic symptoms than professional counseling services can help.
